KPP was started in 1986 by Michael Stidham. After serving the
security industry for 20 years Mike knew the "ins and outs" of the business.
Realizing what it takes to succeed, he decided to start his own security business.
"Quality service and supervision is the key to success in the security
industry", states Mike. This is what KPP is about.
Private security can increase occupancy at apartments,
hotels/motels, condominiums, and decrease burglaries, thefts, and disturbances. In
1993 a well known apartment complex in Jefferson County was crime ridden. The
occupancy level was low and the residents living there did not feel safe. The first
thing the new manager did when she took control was to hire KPP. After a careful
selection process she concluded we were the best company to meet her needs. Today,
at almost full occupancy, the complex is almost problem free. Many residents insist
if it wasn't for our security they would not live there.
At another complex, City View Park resident Ms. Deborah Todd
states, "They have definitely made a difference", in her interview with
the Courier Journal in 1993. We find this type of reaction typical amongst
many of our clients.

Reducing Liability
Kentucky Protection & Patrol can drastically reduce a property owners liability. Its no secret that the residents, tenants,
customers, and visitors can sue a property owner or manager of any business for injuries
received during a violent criminal assault on their premises. The demand for money
damages can go into the millions for alleged physical and psychological injuries.
In recent years, the jury awards have
been so lucrative that the American Trial Lawyers Association now has an annual training
seminar in Phoenix that teaches other Plaintiff lawyers how to prevail against landlords
and property managers.
During a lawsuit, a property
owner/manager is viewed under a judicial microscope, in a highly public forum. Your
most confidential business records must be produced, if so ordered by the court.
Landlords have literally turned their management offices upside-down looking for the
requested documents. Even worse, is when these records get passed on to other
Plaintiff lawyers during the course of a subsequent lawsuit. Several property
management careers have ended due to previously undisclosed indiscretions that were
uncovered during the intense scrutiny of management backgrounds. The process has a
way of bringing out the worst flaws in property management because of the focus on the
negative issues and imperfect decision making.
With security much of the liability is
passed on to the security agency. It sends a message to the courts that the property
owner has done everything in their power to protect people and property. Though we
cannot guarantee you will not be a victim of a crime or lawsuit, you chances will be
drastically decreased.
